If you'd like to watch the extended editions of the Lord of the Rings films, but don't want to spend all day at once, this is what I suggest: stop at each of these points, and it will feel like a TV series.

The Fellowship of the Ring

  2. Wood elves
  3. 1:25 welcome to Rivendell 
  4. 2:10 Sméagol
  5. Galadriel 🧝‍♀️ 

The Two Towers 

  1. Start
  2. Just after meeting Treebeard
  3. 1:37 after the move to Helm’s Deep
  4. 2:15 after 🗺 or 2:30 "the ring will go to Gondor"
  5. 3:08 ents

The Return of the King

  1. Start
  2. 0:42 Mimas 
  3. 1:31 return to Osgiliath
  4. 2:15 Eleven queen
  5. 2:58 after Merry and Pippin meet

An aside: it's annoying these films are a trilogy as that means I can't call it one of my favourite films.
